Euphorbiaceae

Reversed variegation on E. tithymaloides. How common is this?

A while ago, this plant switched its variegation from being at the margin to being at the center of the leaf, the stem also turned from mostly green in the original pattern to being mostly white with streaks of green. Second image is the original pattern. I wonder how common is this and is it rare enough that i'm at risk of losing it forever if i lose this one?

Please ignore how green the plant is, they are getting relatively low light (only direct sunlight during midday) and generous watering.
