Pothos

Pothos main vine now has 2nd vine?

I’ve had this pothos since February 2023 (gifted to me, grown from propagation), and for all its life it’s just had one long vine. It’s nearly 10 feet long now! I noticed the inside of the pot was looking a bit bushier, and that’s when I realized it was growing a second vine off the main line, as well as pushing up other leaves from underneath! I thought pothos could only grow one vine from one propped root (unless propagations are put in the pot to make it look fuller, which I think explains the new leaves), but it looks like the main vine now has two vines?! Has anyone ever seen this before?

Photo 1 is visual, photo 2 is close up of the same photo, photo 3 shows it’s all one vine going into the dirt, and photo 4 is the underside of the plant.

Thank you!!

Yes they will make new vines given the right conditions. Any node can do this.

This is a sign of a healthy plant. This can also happen when you prune. The point where you cut will often sprout a new vine.
