Pothos

Mealy bugs? Or dust?

Weird spots randomly appeared on my jade pothos and I am curious if this looks like mealy bugs. Never had any experience with pests and this pothos has been inside for almost 2 years so I have no clue where they would’ve come from!

looks like dust to me. i dont see any mealies and when my pothos/scindapus get them they tend to congregate on the nodes rather than the leaves. i’d keep an eye out though just to be safe, they’re a pain in the arse.

Mealy bugs usually hang out on stems. Do you see any on the stems? Then you’ll know.

Looks like dust to me but it’s worth a good cleaning! More photos of the stems would be needed to be clear since that’s where they hide like others have said. Pests can come in if you visit a nursery and brush up against an infected plant. New plants to your collection could have pests. I got thrips about 6 months ago and hadn’t done any of the above but I did have grocery store flowers – I later ready they can be infested too and I suspect that’s where I got the thrips.
