Can I dig this up and put it in a pot? \s

I’ve seen trees similar to that here. (And wondered the same thing)
I don’t think it’s possible, if not incredibly difficult. It’s gonna have very little roots that you’ll have to pry out from the old wood of the tree that was there, giving it has a very low survival rate.

Some trees are better appreciated in the hands of the true bonsai artist: Mother Nature 🤭

I think it’s trying to say “I once stood here and I’d like to stand tall here again”.

The regeneration of plants is amazing!

You could do that exactly but it may bring greater results letting it grow in the ground. It would put on size faster in the ground. May be the thing to do…

I see these quite often in the forest. I’m not sure about the angle but I think this one might have started from a fallen seed rather than sprouted from the old stump. If that’s the case you could dig the stump out and it will be ok.

If it’s in native forest I would leave it though.
If it’s in a pine plantation area just take it as it will get killed before too long.
