I’ve never understood this logic when people make claims like this unless maybe your growing one tomato plant and you buy it already grown out in a 5 gallon pot . Tomatoes grow in abundance for literally next to nothing. I spend about $10 on starter plants and wind up with more tomatoes than I have time to eat and can. If growing tomatoes isn’t massively cheaper than buying them then you’re doing something wrong.

This may be true but growing your own is extremely satisfying and, you know exactly what they’ve been eating and drinking because you fed them. Who knows what your store bought toms have consumed.
