What would you do to make this house look better? Remove ivy? Trim the bushes? Front walkway instead of off to the side? There’s a rock garden on the side of the front lawn as well close to the chairs.
I’d replace the lawn with native wildflowers and enjoy. I wouldn’t touch the rest, personally.

This is fantastic. I’ve screenshotted it as inspo for my house. I wouldn’t change anything except adding more plants instead of grass.

Remove the ivy… yesterday.

Keep ivy, trim bushes. House looks nice. Consider updating driveway

Remove the Wrigley field off my house

Remove IVY and all bushes. Instead plant smaller plants that are easier to manage.
IVY is a pain to manage and those large bushes with their roots arent great for foundations.

The ivy will eventually tear the trim off of your house.

Replace the concrete driveway with a gravel driveway

Remove the ivy, trim the hedges would be a good start

I’m not a fan of lawn, but it’s ok if it’s actually being used. And Ivy looks nice, but I don’t know what maintenance that involves. Seems like it could get out of hand and be an issue later.

I would’ve power washed the driveway. The rest looks quite cozy.

I love the rock garden on the right side and all the architectural features. I would remove the ivy, the shrubs, and the ferns ( in the window boxes) from the front and plant a cottage garden. A couple compact evergreens, some flowering shrubs and perennials. I would also plant a climbing rose or clematis on the trellis. Super cute house.

Yes remove the ivy and trim the bushes. It looks unkept. Looks like it’s all up the other side of the house too since it’s covering the chimney. Then you can put flowers in those window planters next spring.

What part of country? Looks very pretty neighborhood

Give the side of the house a fade and line up the front.

Live happily ever after in this beautiful home. That’s what I’d do.
And maybe add a fence for my dog.

The Ivy has a lot of charm, but slew of potential issues that can result from it far outweighs the aesthetic value. I would remove it off the walls now and lightly trim/shape your bushes to lower them off the windows.
I would then follow the design of the right side rock planter and replicate it along the driveway. Bookending the Len on either side will give a more natural feel. I’d taper plant sizes so they are smallest by the sidewalk and work up to the height of the bushes below your window. It’ll Give some of the organic depth you’ll loose if/once you remove the Ivy.

Leave it. It’s gorgeous. 😩

I love the look! Charming garden cottage vibes. Definitely remove the ivy, give the bushes a trim, then replace the rest of that lawn with garden, unless you like mowing. I’d maybe leave strips of grass as walkways to that sitting area, and fill the rest with native perennials and shrubs.

But the house next door instead

I’d say, ‘oh how cute,’ everytime I pulled in 🙂

I’d move in immediately and sell pictures of my house to put on postcards
