Pothos

Tips on potting these propagations with 19” roots?

I’ve been letting these bad boys grow in water on a kitchen shelf for like 7 months now.
Every other time I’ve tried to pot a propagation (pothos and spider plant) they’ve always died and I’m on a long journey to learning not to kill all my houseplants. So any recommendations to plant them so they’re happy are appreciated!

Specific questions I have are what size pot should I use? Can I plant them together so they grow fuller? Do I need any special additive like that stuff I’ve seen people dip propagation roots in before in videos?

Thanks! 🌱

you can definitely plant them together! put them in a pot that is only slightly bigger than the combined root-ball, use a very airy mix that will allow for good drainage, and don’t let it dry out completely for the first little while. the roots need to adjust from water to soil, so you don’t want to keep the plant waterlogged but you also want to make sure the soil is kept fairly moist so they don’t dry out as well.

Yeah honestly what the first comment said. Plant them together in a small pot with a lot of drainage holes and a chunky soil mix. I would advise that you put them in a nursery pot and then use any pretty pot as just a cover pot. A lot of the times, the pretty pots only have one drainage hole and that’s not enough. That would always give my cuttings root rot. No powders necessary🙌
