Though I would try hydroponic cactus and see what results I get I already know that they don't have an issue with roots sitting in water as I have some unused vegepod systems that have had a bunch of cacti sitting in them empty for about 2 years and the bottom of the pods holds about 2 inches of water under the bottom of what the plants are currently sitting on and of course the roots all hunted that water so it was basically like a semi hydroponic system having the plants in pots on top with roots sitting in 2 inches of water constantly under them
