Is this Swan Plant okay? There is only one caterpillar on it.

Hi everyone! We just moved to a new house with a large established garden and I am new to gardening but learning a lot to take care of it all.

There is a big swan plant which is very tall and planted in the ground. There are 2-3 monarchs that frequently visit the garden (basically everyday). I know they can lay hundreds of eggs. However there is only one caterpillar and one other egg I can see on the plant, which doesn’t seem right? (Egg in last slide)

Some of the leaves are going reddish orange. But lots of healthy new green growth up top. The plant is taller than me.

Do I cover it in frost cloth to protect the caterpillar and egg? Or just leave it? Should I pull off the reddish leaves at the bottom? When do I cut it back?

Sorry for all the questions, never had one before and excited to do it right!! 🐛
