I've growing this fero for years now. I knew someone who was digging foundation for their house and they let me keep this. Wild in Arizona desert. I started seeds last year and I just got one to graft onto a pereskiopsis, so hopefully I can't grow it reasonably quick. Then when this one eventually dies, I'll have the babies to keep it's life going.
Everytime it rains or I water it, the spines shine ruby red.
Just pulled some fruit and got some more seeds yay!

Amazing!
What a terrific plant! How exciting to get seeds, good luck with your graft too. Is that a pretty common plant in Arizona? How amazing would it be to be walking the desert and find a stretch of these with their red spines. Thanks for the awesome share
Beautiful
