Context: these were all cut this evening. I cut 4-5 yesterday and 2 more this morning – it’s blooming at an absolutely bonkers pace! I stagger my tubers (half get dug up and split every year, so they each stay in ground for 2 years) and this is year two in the ground for this variety. I think it made 3 different “main stalks” but it’s hard to tell because it’s both very tall (I’m 5’6 and the highest bloom was just above my head) and very wide, laid down and spread quite a lot, and I accidentally let some volunteer fennel get out of hand right next to it. It’s a wild, tangly delight and I can’t recommend it enough.
If I don’t screw up the storage I’ll probably have several extra tubers to share in Spring. If you’re in the Portland, OR area and want one, dm me!
