  1. I know you said you donโ€™t care for the look of the lemon grass but if you plant it near your pool area it will help keep down the mosquito population .

  2. I had to buy some of the arm covers also because of the grasses in my yard. I cut them down in the fall and my arms are always itchy afterwards. The covers really help.

  3. all good projects. motivating. my annuals still look good and roses blooming so this is ahead of me. interesting to see what's working in your garden. I put pinecones in a lot of my pots for winter. keeps them tidy for easy spring work and can always do greens. not sure if you have a natural source for them.

  4. I agree Matthew it was a tough year gardening.. (hot, dry). I was watching hoping you would talk about your hydrangeas .. Does it hurt to just cut the flowers off now? Or do you just leave the plants alone till spring. I have little limes, and the hydrangeas you had along side your other house. Enjoy your week๐Ÿชป๐ŸŒท

  5. Oh my gosh Matthew! How easy was that to pull out the plants from those containers! I need to try that. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

  6. That root ball was impressive!!
I was just out today starting some fall clean up – pulled a few tomatoes and squash that were on the side of the garden affected by a light frost, emptied some pots, and pulled some annuals. Can't bear to pull zinnias or dahlias yet, which are still looking great! But I'm getting it done little by little (in NE WA z6b)

  7. Hi Matthew! I went right to your link and voted for your container. I think it is the prettiest of the containers in the contest. Good luck! Please let us know if you win, and, if you do, which container you win. Now to watch the rest of the video! Planting the two trees did add a lot to the front garden. The climbing rose on the trellis looks so pretty, and has grown so fast. Loved the dichondra "shawl" and the "rant" on the topiaries. ๐Ÿคฃ๐ŸคฃYou really lucked out on getting the plants out of your Crescent containers. I've grown the purple fountain grass in containers many times and had a lot of trouble getting them out because of the roots. It is my favorite grass though. I never thought to tip the pots over and try pulling them out. I'll need to remember that. Thank you so much for sharing, and I'm looking forward to what you'll be doing next!

  8. It's been a hard year for plants and trees for sure. I love fall but the clean up is not so much fun. Spring seems so far away at this point. We can only hope and dream that we have a nice fall/winter without any awful weather. In the meantime……THINK SPRING and make it manifest early next year :))

  9. Good to know about the dogwood burning. Mine was so crispy this year but my tree is young. So hoping it stops burning. But very hot here in Australia

  10. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  11. I will definitely vote for your container and I love the clean look of planters after removing the annuals. ๐Ÿงก

  12. Ha! Ha! That root ball at the end was amazing.
I hate this time of season to say goodbye to my gardens, but once I get to pulling the annuals out I feel accomplished.
I bought a tray of dichondra silver falls and never got around to planting them. They're hiding behind my peonies and likely dried up. We had a drought this past month in Minneapolis.

  13. This is really a heartbreaking….here…they can stay until they giving up on living.feel like i wish to take them home 11:28

  14. Voted for your container โœ…Spent the weekend planting, no rain in the 2 week forecast. So Iโ€™m dragging hoses again. My husband canโ€™t understand why I keep buying more to plant. Because weโ€™re on 2 acres thatโ€™s why๐Ÿ˜‚ Natorp closes on Sunday and weโ€™ve 3 more trees to go in. I think Iโ€™m going to reach out and ask them to plant for us.

  15. โค Garden clean up is hard when you know whatโ€™s coming soon, but I am also looking forward to tucking in garlic for over winter๐Ÿ˜Š

  16. You were cracking me up today! Snacky snack! So funny, I say that! My mouth dropped when I saw the root system from that pot! Thanks for another great video! Deanna

  17. Did yโ€™all catch the mouse running out of the plants at 17:18 bottom right corner. The other day I was mulching and I put my hand down on the ground and felt a wriggling sensation and heard a squeaking sound. It was a shrew! Gave me the heebie-jeebies.
