Help with pest

This plant has slowly been taking over my garden beds, I'm wondering what it is so that I can manage it effectively. Currently my process is to pull it out but that hasn't been effective.

Its chinese elm. Looks like you had a big one and either cut it down or you have cut the roots. You’ll never get rid of it, just cut them out each year if thats the case. The other, they are saplings from a neighbouring tree and they will be easy to pull out.
They do make brillant shade trees, the leaves are small and easy to mow and mulch, bark is pretty and not overly demanding on water, although too little and it will kill off branches.
