I’ve moved into a new house recently and still working through what’s what. One part of my garden is full of these things – they’re not flowing as far as I can tell, their stems are very brittle but their roots go deep.

Aquilegia nigricans – Bulgarian Columbine. I from Tassie too. There is an app called plant net. It links you to a world wide identifier. You simply take a photo and up load it and it gives you a list of images with likely percentages. I use it when I see a plant I like in the Botanic gardens or walking along the streets. Life is so easy now a days. Besides I have been working gardens for the best part of 60 years either as a profession, (horticulturalist) a past time or a volunteer.

grannies bonnet, Aquilegias and they have the most beautiful flowers, all different styles and colours and they cross pollinate producing a new verity of shape and colour each time they self seed, amazing flowers i love them
