i wanted to ask if these cactus are dead. It’s for our terrarium project, and we’d be losing points if one plant is dead. I mean, we don’t water it very often and it gains enough sunlight.

Idk what wrong with the first one but the second one looks like mealybugs, tho see if you can get a closer look by removing it with a q-tip or something
Mealybugs. A rather intense looking case as well. I do not have experience with these pests however the posts I’ve read say you can use some alcohol and a q tip. There are many YouTube videos that can help you with a step by step tutorial on how to kill them. I’m sure others with experience will help you out too.
Separate this guy from any other nearby plants. They will spread. Good luck.
