I should note that, pending advice that it would hurt its appearance next year, I’ll be chopping it all down tomorrow to harvest as schach (ceremonial roofing material).

I chop it down and dig up the root because its so aggressive, large, and don’t play well with anything else. if you don’t harvest and dispose of those berries you will have 1000’s of sprouts next year.
