    That plant can survive! I would make the cutting smaller and divide it into two, only leaving 3 or so nodes below the leaves. Then put it in water to root it. Leaves look pretty healthy. If you have rooting hormone, that will help.

    Until the roots establish, mist the leaves a couple times a day to supplement uptake of water. Keep it inside and out of direct sun for a couple weeks and it will root. Then you can pot it up. It may be pretty big next spring…..
