Hello and good morning everyone! I posted a few pictures regarding the tree that I have in front of my rental property. The owner is saying that I have to perform maintenance on it and prune/trim it and he said, strip the tree of all of its branches down to its five knuckles And I just wanna make sure that this is correct before I kill what I assume to be a mid 50 year old tree. Any information or direction would be much appreciated, gotta respect the elders ya know.

Someone really hated this tree in the past 🙁
You have to keep pollarding it. Else remove it, because most if not all of those branches are poorly-attached. Professionals should come by your area in the winter to do this.
I mean at this point the whole tree just needs to be removed. Otherwise yeah you’re gonna have to cut those branches off every year.
That’s a mulberry, isn’t it? Man, I hate when people pollard these things..
