Surprise peduncle!

So, I had been eyeing this tiny growth for the past couple of days, trying to figure out what it was going to become. I had already figuratively written off the larger one as just another growth point activating, because the tip of the vine it originated from died off. So I'm down on my knees to check if my Mathilde needs watering (she's on the bottom shelf of my Milsbo close to the grow light, and sitting to the right of the Wayetti). I decide to check on the tiny growth to see if it has decided to become a peduncle yet, when I am practically smacked on the nose by something that shouldn't be there. I sit back on my feet to get a wider view, and…

SURPRISE PEDUNCLE!!!!!!!!!

The "vine" is easily double what it was just two days ago, and there are already buds on the end! I let out a very loud, "OH, SH!T!" I only hope my upstairs neighbor's kids are actually at school. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Anywho, I just wanted to share my joy as well as ask for some pointers! The peduncles on my sp aff Burt and Super Silver both have a habit of forming peduncles then blasting them. I'd REALLY like to avoid this, as this is Ms. Way's very first time blooming for me! Thanks in advance for any advice!

Edit for clarification: that should be 2 weeks ago, not 2 days. The last time I paid attention to the larger peduncle, it hadn’t even grown past the end of the nubby vine yet.
