Cutting help

I was gifted this giant cutting and I was hoping for advice on helping it thrive and grow roots!
I have heard they are notoriously sensitive plants that die if you look at them wrong
Should I leave it in water? I have perlite and sphagnum peat moss

I already lost my beautiful albo cutting to rot and I don’t want to lose this too
