How do I get my Santa Rita Opuntia to get that deep purple hue?

I’ve had a Santa Rita Opuntia for about a year now, and it never gets that deep purple hue. It’ll get a light purple on the edges of the pads, but never takes up the whole pad (like in the picture).

Do I need more sun, less water, or colder weather?

Sun-wise, it gets about 5 – 8 hours direct sun a day (depending on season).

Water-wise, I do every 3 weeks in summer, every 6 in winter.

And the coldest nights we get here are about 50 F.

so i have been OBSESSED with getting myself a purple santa rita (they are quite abundant in my area) and my (not so scientific) observations have concluded that those that live in the most stressful, high sun (full sun 8-10 hours i guess?) /low water (like just the natural infrequent rainfall) environments get the most pink/ purple. for what’s it’s worth i live near Phoenix AZ and so we know high sun/ low water well.
