personally, looks environmental…I have a den whose leaves look a bit mottled/sickly because I tried putting it outside and it apparently did not like that. It’s back indoors now but they still look weird.

Could possibly be transportation damage that is now showing up.
Another possible, since you mentioned you put them outside, is that it’s none too happy about being put in better conditions without an adjustment period. Here’s what I mean; my family would go on vacation to Florida in winter. Lived in Ohio at the time. Winter pale skin + hot Florida sun=SIZZZLED!!!!
