I want to root a cutting from a Ti Plant, but I'm beginning to believe that the cutting was too short. I cut it from a friend's plant. The purple-pink bit above the green was where the leaves were, which I plucked. I would appreciate a bit of help. Was this cutting too short?

Looks fine to me, I’d just stick it in some soil and call it a day.
Plants like to survive. I have seen incredible things come out of cuttings I thought would go nowhere. Ti is a resilient plant, I think this will root. Good luck!
Has lots of nodes there, very viable! I would place in water and let it root.
