Lawn Care

How to make your spouse very upset about your beautiful lawn.

Fall overseed, very dry in the Chicago area. We set a new record for water bill. This is a two month bill. 11k sf yard. Overseed with 60lb of Lesco premium athletic mix.

WARNING: The window for SAFE seeding in all but the most southern cool season zones (SW U.S.) has now closed. The next recommended window is dormant seeding, when soil temps are too low for grass seed to germinate (under 50F/10C but before the ground is frozen).

Regardless, if you are you looking for information about how to overseed a cool season lawn? You can find a comprehensive guide [in this post here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/lawncare/s/pUsKCxyvwQ)

I’d say it’s time to check your local laws about putting in a well. Haha

  3. You’re not doing it right until the city calls you asking if you might have a leak.

  4. lordy. a few months of that type of billing is enough to pay for a well. hope you’re able to get one set up!

How many months and what is your typical bill for non-watering months?

Man, August and September have been exceptionally dry. I think we only had 2 rain days?

I did what you did in the back but I didnt have time to maintain the front. I’ll tackle that in the spring at this point.

Yeah i just got the bill yesterday and it was $350 for one month. I usually spend $100 or less.

I’m not looking forward to my bill as well 😂 I may be in the same exact dog house as you. My average for 2 people was as low as 75.. I’m assuming a 300 dollar bill to pop in.
