Long story short, this cutting was chewed off a lovely elephant bush by a rat. I ordered a growth hormone, anything else I should do special? I’m assuming water prop is the way to go? The cut is how the rat left it, should I do a clean cut higher up?

Not an expert but have water-propped elephant bush cuttings before. Make sure you let both ends callous, and be patient – mine took much longer (and frequent water changes) before I started to see roots. May also recommend cutting off that darker, forked portion on the left.
