  1. Thanks so much for taking me shopping with you today and it was a wonderful day out and about with a great friend

  2. Wow! Was that that invasive Vinca from hell for $$? Really?
Between that and I seen that horrible stonecrop that is all over the lawn every year they can keep it. I couldn’t believe I seen that stonecrop for sale recently. It says it likes sand and dry and Boy does it Ever!
I think I have the salvia market cornered 😅. I couldn’t see the varieties on what they had and I’m not keen on what is popular. So many varieties of many flowers these days. I bought a Cats PJs Nepata last year and it was quite small and it’s doing well this year. Have several varieties of salvia and one Victoria and like you say—dozens—it’s taking me forever to get them potted up and I’m grouping them.
I told the plants today—“Sink or swim” and they went full sun today.
Planted 9 bare root plants, bread seed poppies, celery, lettuce, petunias and onions—then created an arch for rose and clematis with bits and pieces we had. I would like to put peppers in (the ones I sowed too early) and as soon as they all look ready it’s go time! I need a break from babysitting so many kids 😅. Have to study the weather as storms and wind were mentioned.
We are getting rain, but it’s choosing the same path around us still and we get spritzed mostly.

I think I seen Mr. Limpet in the pond! 😂

  3. Yes, if you're patient enough you can grow these from seeds 🌱🌸👍 43$ for vinca. That's what I said in my last video. When you buy them they are very expensive but when you have them they grow like weeds.

  4. Wow they are really expensive – am in UK we can buy a tray of 12 bedding plants for about £3 – 6 veg plants for £3 and the perennials which you saw for $20 are 3 for £10 here 😀 are they so expensive because of the cost of transporting them?

  5. Hey there, I work in a garden center in Belgium, when I saw the prices I was truly shocked. We sell those pots at half price here.

  6. Sadly, the same applies in the UK where I live. Plant nurseries were very badly hurt by covid, effectively losing 2 years of profits.Since then, plant prices have rocketed! Some of this is businesses making up for lost profit, but I am in NO DOUBT that there is some grifting going on!

  7. Hi Leigh, just found your channel. We’re in Berlin Borough, next to Marlton. Love that you’re a local gardener sharing your gardening experience. I’ve found some deals at Produce Junction, but even they have gotten high. Happy gardening! 🌸🌿🌞

  8. I have started to replace, in a twenty year old garden, my hosta, lilies, roses, and any other deer and rabbit loving plants that I own. I started last year, and noticed the price increases then. Gallon size and up were at least $8 more last year, and are $10 to $12 more this year. So if it was $24, it’s now $34. Two to three gallon plants are $40 and more. I am not growing anything from seeds, as I don’t have the room or temperament. I do try to split plants, if possible, to get two from one. But, that’s often not possible. Four hellebores cost me $100. What I am doing and will continue to do, is dig and divide what I own. I’m investing in allium, butterfly bushes, dwarf varieties, dahlias and peonies. Salvia work too. But, sticker shock continues.

  9. It's time for gardeners to start back sharing plants and bartering with each other…… Plants and garden items have gotten to expensive..

  10. I think plants are a little cheaper here in ireland 3Lt plants are about 14 euro and 2Lt are about 7 or 8 euro. Dunnes store supermarket sell aquileiga for 5 euro 3 Lt plant. When you know how quickly some of these plants increase you can't justify what the garden centres are charging. Everyone should take a chance at growing some plants from seed.
