So is it ok to use herbs after using neem oil or any type of spray??? If not, how long do you need to wait to use the herb?
Have you ever tried spraying diluted milk on aphids? I have had great luck with this, even on petunias. Spray entire plant when sun is down and wash off in the morning.
I have to say I absolutely love Russell wanting you to love on him! Kitty lover here and he is so cute!
Thank you Laura! 🪴
Oh, Laura, it’s just so precious to see Samantha on her knees next to you planting and chatting with you. It warms my heart every time. Brings tears of joy to my eyes. 💞
The loosestrife is beautiful. We have the white invasive one here in New England. The flower is so nice…..but! As a young gardener I tried loosestrife, wormwood artemisia, spiderwort. We think we can when we’re new gardeners and a few years later realize we can’t. We are plagued with Japanese knotweed and Chinese bittersweet here as well. They are gifts from the birds.🌺🦋
I would love to watch you and P.Allen Smith talk about gardens together ❤
The music variety today is especially nice – thank you. And I like how you refer to the garden as 'our garden', and 'we' are working on this. Shows the true spirit of the team at Garden Answer. Thank you so much for all you do.
Hey Laura and Aaron greetings from zone 9a coastal Alabama! Wanted to first say how much I love your channel and content-you really are an inspiration to the gardening community and have helped me gain so much confidence over the years! Thank you for what you do!
My question is-with edibles (edible herbs in particular) if they are infected with a bug, is it safe to eat and use? For instance I had some spider mite damage on my basil and mint and was unsure if it could still be used even if washed. ❤
Thank you for saying spraying aphids with water doesn’t work! lol sooo many people say it does and Idk maybe they’re just not checking their plants closely? It’s never worked for me.
Aphids are so bad this year! My hellebores are covered, even after using insecticidal soap. Are there other sprays or methods you use to get rid of them, or is that a host plant?
Oh awesome… Buy a ton of lady bugs for the aphids
What about the gloves? Will they spread the aphids now?
Sure hope you sprayed your clean up bag, too. No need to transport them around yard. I tend to use a wheelbarrow for easier disinfectanting.
Is there something wrong with your microphone? I’ve noticed lately that the volume of your videos are really low compared to commercials and I have to put the volume way up in order to hear them. Never had this happen in the past but I’ve noticed it over the last few weeks
So nice to be able to work from home …dig a little, cook a little .😉
Russell lives his momma. Russell hangin out with momma today. So cute.
I recently moved from zone 11b (lower Florida Keys) to zone 9a (North FL) and here our ground is Nothing but sugar sand and I mean that. I don't know how to plant in nothing but sand, anyone have experience with that?? We also have 10 Crepe myrtles in our yard that we trimmed and fertilized, and I can't wait to see what colors they all are. And an amazing Azalea that was gorgeous before we had a hard rain…Im so used to growing everything outside all year long. And this winter our bay window and livingroom area looked like a jungle bc it actually gets cold up here, lol. But my husband put up with them like a champ, lol. I also started foxglove from seed last year and hollyhock, I can't wait to see them bloom this year. Also grew confederate roses from cuttings off my neighbors plant and I even picked redbud seeds from the woods in our neighborhood. The redbud seeds are doing fantastic. And I can't wait to plant the confederate roses in the ground. I'm guessing compost added to the sandy soil would help??? Right now I'm growing everything in containers. Anyone with any suggestion please share your experiences!! Ive been watching your channel sine the beginning. And now I can grow things I never could before in the Keys. ❤❤❤
First thing in the morning this guy makes his coffee. Now, it’s watching Laura while having my coffee. The day isn’t right unless I do these two things. ❤
Love it x ( u k )
Do you need to change gloves after handling plants with aphids before planting new plants? Love your videos! I watch every morning!
The Flowering Current might do good under a tree or shrub near the water on your property for the summer heat. Maybe not if the stream evaporates because there might be too much humidity there.
Love your choice of plants today❤❤
Aaron! Are you with me? 13:43. The white barn breaks that private, woodland theme for the pond. Is there enough space to do a staggered planting of Arbs & Evergreens to seclude it more? Laura, beautiful additions to the pond area! Ty for taking us along! 🌲🌳🌿
We are in zone 6b southern ontario Canada and we have had 20F temperatures the last few nights and snow last night. Very unusual spring for us.
Noticed a bunch of aphids on my roses gonna try this!!! Ty
Loosestrife in zone 6 , for me, is extremely invasive. Hope it isn’t for you!
I so so wish you guys were a little closer!! Planning a trip to bring my girls down to see the garden center!! Can’t wait to go back!!
I love you all!! I have to say seeing Samantha help you plant brings a smile to my heart ❤️. Russell, as he ages, wants more attention from you. His appearance is so sweet! The picture of the kiddos in the orchard you posted was beautiful! I just feel like family after watching for the past 4 years! Thank you for sharing, family, gardening, knowledge… 😊❤
What was on the gravel path @ 9:54? It was purple and stretched the width of it.
Did anyone else gasp when she turned those mint leaves over ? ! Just dread aphids!
