  1. Very informative video. I am glad to see you amending the raised beds. Since I have aged I cut back on garden space and only have a few raised beds now. I started my tomato and green pepper seeds last week. Can’t wait for Spring to break through. 🌿🍅🥬

  2. Props to the camera person lol! Seriously though, I love watching P. Allen Smith …always very informative and entertaining.

  3. Oh my goodness, your soil is just beautiful! I love the idea of diagonal planting in square beds. Aesthetics are important too 🙂

  4. Hi Allan, thank you so much for your wonderful information. Me and my daughter are about to buy our new home with 3 acre land and we are looking forward to grow organic food like you. We are taking a lot of ideas from you. BUT, Allan…THE MUSIC IS VERY LOUD AND IS HARD TO HEAR SOME OF YOUR IMPORTANT POINTS..Thank You

  5. Looks like a great informative video, but the jangly noisy music makes it impossible to listen to 🙁 fyi

  6. How do you get 15 or 20 gloves out of a garlic bulb? Never seen more than 6 and most times it's 5, the odd one is even 4.

  7. Love this video. Very comprehensive with lots of helpful tips. Thanks Allen!
One question please. I live in zone 9 and wondering if I can plant my seed potatoes now. I use containers for all my produce. Much appreciated!

  8. Wish I could find that nice double willow fence …and have you noticed how much nicer garden supports and covers are in the UK?

  9. Hello! Absolutely loved the video and the ideas. I’m guessing this is sometime before spring. Can you tell us give or take the months that you did this in your zone 7 climate? Thank you!

  10. Allen, could you please tell us where you got that awesome double sided accordion trellis? When I watched this video, it is a wonderful informative video by the way, I immediately went online and looked for a double sided accordion trellis and could not find one. I found plenty of accordion style willow and bamboo trellises, but I could not find the double sided style like you have. Thank you very much.

  11. Morning Allen, soil building and preparation is vital for good healthy plant and trees. A fact we cannot escape from is mulching. I noticed leaves also work wonders in a box bed, it really helps with loosening the soil. Home gardens have really boomed the past 20 years or so, I think it started as a novelty and then the gardeners realised the value and enjoyment in working with the soil. I have to agree, the every day vegetables taste super good and fresh potatoes out the ground is unbeatable. A good idea to get as much variety from one bed, those peas looked very special to me. Thank you for all the suggestions and inspiration, your videos are excellent to start any person off to try their hand at growing their own. Kind regards, take care.

  12. Yes. P. Allen Smith. Thank you for making this video. Planting soon. Have my asparagus ready to go into the ground and potatoes too.

  13. So sorry to hear you,re using peat disc seed planters…it is not environmentally friendly to use peat at all…", jinxy

  14. thank you for saying your zone . that helps us who are newbees who live in the same zone thks again from Tn

  15. You literally wasted that wood ash. The phosphorus is water soluble in potash bud, the first rain and that all went south to the water table.. you top dress with potash or water plants with it. Regardless I wouldn't waste it on bare root. It's gone by the time it's even photosynthesizing

  16. I think when momma praying mantis laid her eggs she picked that tree because there would be a meal ready nearby in that sac you tossed…in my humble opinion

  17. I first want to say that I have been following you from the very beginning!! My question is, can I do the same for growing sweet potatoes the same way as what you were showing for potatoes? Thank you for making this video! I wish you a great day!
PS: I’ve never grown potatoes before, but I love sweet potatoes better.

  18. The music that is playing, suppose to be in the background, was very distracting to me. Didn't like it at all!
