  1. I just started some red and yellow potatoes in pots about 6 weeks ago. No sprouts above ground yet. Hopefully they grow. How long does it usually take till harvest? How often do you water when in pots? I am new at this. We live in an HOA community so i dont have much land so everything is in pots or boxes. I do have some shade cover over my main garden area, not sure how things do with full sun and the heat. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Hi. Please… how'd you keep the plants from burning and balance the water shortage here? We want to plant but have been afraid to

  3. I love home grown tomatoes, and in Massachusetts grew more than I could eat most years. Now I live in Arizona and every tomato plant I transplant either to my garden, or larger pot, just dies instantly! I can't figure it out. I tried watering more, watering less, direct sun, partial sun, fertilizer, potting soil, compost, everything. It's so discouraging.

On the other hand, kale and Broccoli grow amazingly well all winter long.

  4. Good Morning, I was wondering if you grow any potted flower plants. I have a small backyard but am looking for color. Or maybe you have helpful resources. So pleased to have found you. Thank you for taking the time to share with those of us in Arizona.

  5. our knowledge & skills with us. I’m a YouTube gardener too but I’m just learning as I grow. I am happy I found your channel it has so much to offer. I hope we can learn more from each other as we grow our gardens and our garden channels!

  6. I'm in TX where the summer heat puts everything in a slump. Malabar spinach is great. It reseeds every year.

  7. What a lovely garden! We live in AZ too, and grow corn successfully every year.

    Tips:

    1. corn must be able to cross pollinate. Planting corn 12" apart and 1" deep is just the start. The corn rows must be 30-36" apart.
    2. Corn prefers to have water on its leaves, so an overhead sprinkler type might be best.
    3. Corn needs lots of light.

I noticed your corn is in a grid, but rows may be too close together. Try planting a row, alternating with some shade loving plants. End with corn.

  8. I live in Sonora MX in the border of AZ and the heat here is unbearable. I can’t wait to start my own garden🫶🏼✨

  9. Oh Malibar Spinach! On my list. This year I planted Asian Imperial spinach which is heat tolerant also apparently.

  10. If I have a tomatillo plant that is already flowering( it overwintered) and new tomatillos that are smaller and not flowering yet what should I do with the flowering plant so that I get pollination? Should I prune it or pinch off the flowers so that it continues to flower while the others catch up?

  11. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS INFORMATION. I'M GOING TO TRANSFORM MY GARDEN INTO A SUMMER GARDEN BECAUSE IT HAS ALREADY GOTTEN SO HOT HERE IN COASTAL GEORGIA zONE 8B.

    STAY SAFE.

  12. Are you still doing a garden 🪴 ? Please update with what you have planted . I’m in Glendale, Az ….

  13. Surely your not talking about southeast Texas heat ? Over 100 degrees here with no rain in over 2 months. My corn burned up. My long beans look like snake skins . My tomatoes burned up . Okra produced about 6 fruit.

  14. I have been trying to grow squash and pumpkins for two years now. Squash bugs have invaded and I'm so bummed my plants keep dying. I'm hoping several applications of beneficial nematodes this fall and spring will help. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

  15. Beautiful garden, I subbed. I no longer have a yard, so I have to use planters on the deck and in a courtyard. Do you have a blog or especially a video addressing that? Thank you for sharing.
