  1. I also name part of my garden but with my neighbors names in their location. My sister helped with a flower garden so I name it after her. You sure have a beautiful large garden. Thanks for Sharing. I like the metal better then wood which rots.

  2. Those galvanized beds are much larger than ours. I bought several 4×8 galvanized raised beds from Costco with mixed results out here in the southwest desert. I’m thinking they’re not deep enough for the tomatoes to develop a strong root system. Wish we had more space to grow more. Cheers!

  3. Thanks for the info. I was just teln another that I need to figure out my layout for my new garden property. This will surely help. Thanks again.

  4. Great episode mr Scott! I love how you explained your original garden vision and adjusted a bit as you’ve come to appreciate the corrugated metal raised beds. Over the last 2 years I’ve also begun to replace my simple wooden raised beds with metal and it has been so wonderful! My space is just a small suburban back yard, but the metal beds come in so many different configurations it’s easy to plan new bed areas. My garden is organized much better now.

  5. I didn’t know you’ve that much space and planning even for more. My question is, how do you afford to spend that much time watering your plants in a dry area you’re living in?

  6. Gardener Scott another great video! I’m active duty military and am going to switch to metal beds at my next duty station. The movers won’t take my “dirty” wood beds so each duty station I give away or sell cheaply all my gardening beds and soil 😩 I think the metal beds will be cost efficient. When it’s time to PCS I’ll hose them down and have the movers take them.

  7. Great video Gardener Scott…. Will you come to middle GA and help me plan my garden space LOL 🤣😉🙏 Kendra

  8. Wow!! Thanks for showing us your whole garden area! It's way bigger than it seems in other videos, since it's usually focused on one small area. I love it…it's beautiful and so functional and organized:)

  9. Where did you get the giant white sheet of fabric on top of the enclosed garden? What is it for? I assume it isn't to keep bugs out, as there is no door.

Is the drawing of your garden available somewhere? If you labeled each bed with what you grow in it and put N/S/E/W on it, I would BUY it. I bought a house last fall and I'm spending this summer observing and walking around, the only "gardening" I'm doing is watering the raspberries that were already here, taking care of some leaf cutter bees, and making compost. Having your schematic would be so helpful for me.

  10. I was thinking about how I'd love to see a holistic view of your garden after watching all the videos. You're making great progress!

  11. I’ve continued to enjoy your videos and training. Very educational. Have you ever used garden design software? Any favorites? Or do you use the old school method of paper and pencils (kind of what it looked like)?

I started my channel to learn and grow myself but also to share with others. But we were living in Utah with my wife’s parents as she was taking care of them. They have both now passed and we are moving. However, home, land, and mini farms are outrageously priced here now. So, we are heading to North Carolina. Much longer growing season and very different weather. But your videos continue to encourage and excite. Thanks for making them.

In the end, I’m going to do my best to use your advice and plan my garden slowly. Hoping to have at least 1/2 acre for the garden itself.

  12. Oh, now that was a wee bit exciting to see your plan… looking forward to watching the garden develop and being able to think back to your plan 😀
Looking forward to seeing your chillooterie appear soon 😀

  13. I don't know if Gardener Scott has plans to change in the future but I definitely appreciate seeing weeds in all the paths. It makes me feel better about my own wild space. 😅

  14. Man I do not want your water bill.
You have an amazing, well thought out of plan.
In a way, my garden has a similar design, I have tried to transition my limited space keeping sunlight in mind from functional to meditative. I have three places I sit in the garden depending on the sun and the season and all three positions have a sense of production and of peace. I really have to work in a water feature as you showed in a recent video.
My shishito peppers are being very well received, although a little hotter than I had imagined.
    Thanks' Gardener Scott!

  15. At 8.11 in the video, you show a wooden raised bed with a metal trellis and two green upright mental stakes. Can you please tell me what those stakes are actually called and what purpose they are serving because the metal fencing is behind the stakes and the stakes have protrusions or nodules at the front, and I wondered what they are for. I have seen similar somewhere but I cannot remember where and I wanted to know what they were called and how they are used when creating a trellis, so that I can look for them.

  16. Yup, I'm always envisioning new ideas for my garden space. Great Scott!! Your garden is totally awesome!! Thank You for your ideas! 🐝🪴🐞🌾🌻

  17. Also to put in the mix, and maybe cheaper than galvy metal tanks, are metal or rubber farm animal feed tanks. Also paintable.

  18. Question. I like the color of your wood raised beds. I don’t want to use stain for fear it will contaminate the soil and vegetables. What can I use to preserve the wood and make it astetically pleasing to the eye?
