  1. Nice garden but most people seem to realize that planting your own garden isnt cheaper than buying because you need fertilizer & water plus effort & time & loss some plants will die on you

  2. Just started my own garden. Mostly hot peppers and herbs. Also in Texas. Glad to actually see a great garden growing out here. The wife and I just arrived from California.

  3. Brandon, I used the Black Fabric as well. It works wonderful! No weeds! In Texas, we have a lot of weeds…I live in the Frisco area.

  4. how do you store your harvest…newbie to gardening. I plan on canning and freezing. I do have a root cellar but unsure about temps and all that good stuff. any tips or videos of harvest storing?

  5. Beautiful garden!!! Can you tell me where you purchased the seeds from? I want to purchase a seed vault and wanted to know if the seeds were from a vault or local store? I also used the fabic to keep the weeds down etc..

  6. You can use the onion bulbs(Don't wait until they bloom) and stems for stir fry of any kind…They are edible and delicious!

  7. I have another idea to hold down weeds and hold in moisture, use 4-6 in layer of wood chips, the plants will love it, you just have to rake the chips once a year to prevent composting of the wood chips themselves.

  8. In the UK we cut the scrapes off the top of garlic and onions so they dont produce seeds, we use them in stir fries and soup.

  9. What you recommend if my yard soil is not great for gardening? Also why do you have the black in your garden?

  10. Just starting out in North McKinney. Need some advice about this crazy weather and When to start. It's warm, it's cold. Im thinking Colorado was a cake walk.

  11. Beautiful garden…this is how I saw my dad made his garden in the Philippines….is that turp used to protect from frost?

  12. I really enjoyed your video ! I like your production and how everything is set up so nicely and organized! You have inspired me thanks~🙂

  13. Your garden looks great, despite the frost you encountered but I would advise NOT cutting the WHOLE heads of lettuce at a time. ONLY cut off what will be consumed for that meal. That's the same with just about ANY plant, unless harvesting for canning for winter.

  14. When I saw the first shot of your veggie garden, I knew the design was perfect for mine! I'm restoring an 18th century walled garden in England. Its been neglected over past hundred years or so and it's a mass of weeds and decaying trees. It's primary use seems to have been a place to dump trash – I'm unearthing all kinds of broken pottery and glass. Your design fits in very nicely with my idea of how a vegetable garden should look. Thank you very much for all your hard work – it's going to be replicated in Spring over here!

  15. paris island lettuce you can also use cut & come again. so you get more than one day of salad.

  16. I live in Texas and have always wanted to get into gardening. We just bought a house. It's so hot here I wasn't sure what could be grown and I know nothing we can't afford it yet BUT definitely in the future.thanks!

  17. Is your squash as little close to watermelon? They will mix and you can end up with Watersquashmelon which isn't so great.

  18. Man talk about a brain trip. I heard the birds there and here,(Harker Heights) and I was really confused lmao
