I need to landscape my front yard. it's a blank page, but I don't know where to begin. I am worried that I may have problems after planting because my house is on a concrete slab. Will this cause water issues?
Brand new sub here!! We are working on landscaping the front yard of our 100 year old spanish style home in south Texas. I am but a Painter. How do i even get to the before yard? Bought a house with tumbleweeds and dirt. I want sod inner with zero scaped border. I can do that. I need help with my front yard erosion control. It slopes down about 10-15º from the street. It was graded smooth with a new sprinkler system and reseeded with fescue and some trees and bushes were removed. Since then the low spot in the yard by my front door walkway collects standing water causing runoff and poor grass growth. Looking for an erosion control solution using water soaking perennials, river stone, as well as plant selections for my partial shaded flower bed area right in front of my house. I'm in zone 7 in the Atlanta area. The area that needs the main attention is about 3145 sq. ft. I have measurements of all the areas, plus an idea of the design created in Photoshop working on top of a photo. I want the design to be very contemporary and modern with hard edges and straight lines and angles since my house has the same.

I appreciate any quick advice you could give.
