Japanese maples are a staple for many Japanese gardens. It can take many years of pruning to bring out a beautifully curved thick trunk. But this provides aesthetic beauty throughout every season of the year.
In this video you can see how they are used both as a focal point as well as backdrop trees to provide some color variation.
