Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland, Australia, about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online, so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  5. How much is it to ship to Australia.? l really want one and do not mind paying. Otherwise do you know of a similar product that l can buy that they ship to Australia?

  6. only thing she needs to do to that is make it easier to get compost into it, by making it so you can stand it on an end, to put it in and then put it back on it's side for sifting.

  7. Cheryl is amazing ..thank you for your dedication to us who are interested!! Kudos mate,!

  8. It would really be great for loofah pods. You crack the dried pod cut the loofah to size and throw them in there the seeds are rolled around and fall out. You simply scoop them up and package them. It would be good for dried herbs as well. What a wonderful idea and even me who has arthritis will be able to lift it up and move it around because it looks very light. Well done!

  9. I've actually been trying to figure out how to build this exact same type of thing for a couple of purposes. Firstly (believe it or not) to actually use for my goat's "Birthing suit" to separate the material I use as their bedding, from their little pellet poos to extend the life of the flooring. And secondly a large one to use for rocks and dirt.

  10. the secondary mesh could have been improved by just making it slightly smaller than the circumference of the tube that way you could just have a completed mesh that you fit INSIDE of the spinner and no need to fuss around with the rubber band and trying to line the whole thing up and all that.

  11. Cheryl is a wonderful and helpful being. Her product is worth the money!
I have the second generation model and mentioned having the ability to change screens years ago, glad she has figured out how to accomplish that!
