Transforming Our Backyard Garden || Part 3 || Awning and Dry Creek WIP

Come with me to my backyard project where I am working on installing a very DIY dry creek for drainage on this north facing garden space. This area used to be a very broken and a very NOT level old porch that took up most of this space. The terrain was graded incorrectly and toward the house, causing water to get into the basement. We had the old porch demoed and removed. Then, we had stairs brought in and siding fixed. We moved the dirt ourselves by hand with shovels, wheel barrows and other hand tools, after getting the soil delivered off a huge truck into a mountain pile on our driveway. In this episode, you see the new awning and me working on the dry creek. It still needs work, but it’s about 80 percent done, I’d say. Can’t wait until we can paint the foundation and add the plantings! Hope to see you in the next episode! Thanks for watching.

I’m really interested in plant and animal diversity, native plantings, permaculture, gardening on a budget, planting in drifts, dividing plants, planting for wildlife, butterfly gardening, and much more relating to that, so if any of that interests you, this is a great channel to come back to and see what I do next in the garden!
