Is there a reason he cut a tree and put it in the water? Is it for finishing ritual or some sort?
Edit : nvm i googled it, it is said adding sliced banana tree trunk helps eliminate the cement's smell and neutralizes any chemicals that come from the cement which are bad for the fish, actually you need to leave it on for a day or two before it can be used

Unbelievably beautiful, all cities should have these in parks instead of polluting cars and traffic! Only thing I would have left out were the fish, not sure if that's where they really belong ; )
