  1. John, you're TOPS! I would have never known about rock dust if it wasn't for you sharing that information. I just got my tubers I ordered from you in the mail yesterday. Are you gonna do a vid showing us how to plant them?

  2. A tip I would also share for new gardeners is grow what is native to your area, perennials and annuals. I have lived and gardened in 2 very different climates and what was :"easy" for me to grow on the coast of Florida responds completely different in the Appalachian mountains where I now reside.  Let annuals go to seed and if they reseed on their own, that is nature's way of telling you to enjoy the harvest! :)))

  3. I think the main takeaway from this video is to "get out of the way." Plants don't always grow the way we want them to and sometimes plants don't make it. But all-in-all, after giving our plants a quality growing environment the most important thing we can do for our plants is to get out of the way. As Carl Rogers said, we should learn to trust "the wisdom of the organism."

  4. Dude you are so funny just about every video puts a smile on my face I'm about to start my first garden

  5. It's funny. When you said, "Nature knows what to do." I thought of sex immediately.   You too apparently. Spring is in the air.

  6. John, I have not watched all your videos, but if you have not – why not considering showing how to clean and store seeds for long term use or re-using, as a series of videos? Great video, you got going.

  7. 900 episodes! Holy Moses John that's remarkable. But the message is perfectly simple and perfect in practice. Good solid gardening is easy if not overthought or overworked. Thanks! 🙂

  8. John:   "I KNOW what I'm doing!!!  I swear I'm sooo goood (…in the raised garden bed) it'll make your head spin!"  😉  LoL!!!

Ok ok, but seriously now, your garden looks sooo phenomenal!!!  wow, I love it!  I…WANT…TO…EAT…UP…ALL…YOUR…GARDEN…STUFF!     mmmmmm!

  9. anyone else notice how john makes the occasional sexual reference?

lol honestly 1/3 videos has him say something related to boning girls.

the more i think about it, im sure plenty of horney gardener girls send john messages all day long

  10. Love the message. Please make a vid @how to harvest/store seeds once u get them on the plants..how long can they be kept? When do u harvest,do u need to dry them,etc.. I started saving seeds from my dill, etc, but not sure how long u can keep? Thx!

  11. John, you are an inspiration. I'm 21 and I have started my very first full blown organic vegetable garden this year, because of you and your informative videos. Keep them coming! I don't think I've ever had this much to talk about with my dad. I can't wait to harvest this season.

  12. 420 thumbs up! I love you John, but I have never seen a video shorter than 5mins and I got to give you the 420th thumbs up. Life is kind of funny sometimes. Keep up the good work as always!
