De-cluttering and Calming our Japanese Zen Garden | Our Japanese Garden Escape

Traditionally many Japanese gardens have what are known as Zen areas. Typically these parts of the garden are quiet, peaceful calming areas where reflection can take place. This feel and look is achieved through minimalist planting and the use of gravel, stone, rocks and moss. This video covers how we de-clutter, calm and simplify our overgrown busy Zen garden. We look at which plants to remove, creating open spaces, promoting moss growth and ultimately producing a calm tranquil feeling with this section of our Japanese garden.

  1. Retirer l'herbe, c'est OK, mais pourquoi enlever les fougères ? c'est trop joli, moi, je viens d'en planter et on en trouve beaucoup dans le jardins japonais !

  2. I really like your garden. It´s strange with the Maples dying, because they are really hardy trees and can grow in almost any soil. Before i got into bonsai, i had one growing in clay soil in the ground and it was so healthy.
