Set-up Fast Vegetable Garden Container Gardening/Raised Bed TOTES Growing Tons of Food Tomato Plants

Composting in Place & Growing Food & Totes as a Raised Bed Garden: Easy to set up fast and grow TONS of food, on a Deck, Patio, Yard, Porch, most anywhere to create a Food Vegetable Garden by Container Gardening. Totes or Tubs and perfect for growing food, sometimes even better that in the ground, as you have full control of everything with a tote. What you are creating is a “raised bed” set up to grow food in at a fraction of the cost, faster and better, and these totes last for many many years. You can grow kale, collard, herbs like sage, rosemary, mints, oregano, papalo, basil, and also watermelon, tomatoes and so much more. And you can add a couple of earthworms in but if you are setting this up in a yard, the worms will find you, that is how nature works. Take care all!

Here is an aff. link to look at, for these are the same types of totes and tubs I am growing in, these can be ordered and delivered to your home: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5575376117&toolid=10001&campid=5338267736&customid=&mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2F8-Plastic-Storage-Containers-Box-Sterilite-18-Gallon-Stackable-Bin-Tote-Lid-Set%2F172530224234

  1. no grocery delivery here anymore. I got one order this week but can't buy anything else. They do have them for $4.98 for pick up but I'm trying to stay away from Walmart. People are crazy and don't follow the stay 6ft away rule.

  2. Im jealous of how long you can grow there! 💚 I love watching you guy's! Your 🍅 are looking great!!💚

  3. Robbie… i need some advise on companion plants in the same container with veggies? I want to maximize the square footage of my containers… and add filler herbs or flowers that would benefit the veggies… like marigolds/basil with tomatoes. Do you have any other suggestions? Like onions or garlic chives… that would be a good buddy…. but not be a rude room mate…lol. I know onions (taste) can be invasive… but i dont know it the taste would transfer to …lets say… a tomato or a squash? Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thank you.

  4. I was so happy to see this video pop up. You have inspired me and I have found a sunny space along my garage wall and I am so excited to turn it into my new garden space. Thanks so much Robbie!! 💖

  5. I just found you! I subscribed..BUT I need to know..I froze some strawberries a few years ago and forgot about them at the bottom of my freezer..and they are from a farmer who is no longer here, they were the most fabulous sweet juicy organic strawberries…do you think the seeds from those berries could be planted and grown???

  6. Just curious would using miracle grow potting mix for what you are growing to eat be okay. Dont they have synthetics or chemicals in there mixes?

  7. I’m in zone 5b. So we are a bit colder. But last year I composted in place in three big grow bags. I have nice compost in each one, they are about half full. Going to mix some promix with each one and try growing some things in there. I’m behind in my videos, have been busy. Do enjoy watching them. Thank you.

  8. I can't figure out a cheap way to make a raised bed on our patio without staining the patio so Im going to do this. Thanks so much

  9. May seem like an elementary question, but I’m wondering if the worms get to those totes off of the ground or do you transplant them to the pots?

  10. I just found you and I plan on starting my vegetable garden again thanks to you….I failed miserably 2 years ago…but willing to try again with composting…wish me luck!!

  11. Robbie, thanks for another great video, you have so much energy I feel tired watching you, do you pinch out the growth inbetween the branches on your tomato's please, watching you from France

  12. I am feeling more and more confident at this gardening thing each time I watch one of your videos. My courage is building and I think I'll be ready very soon to start growing my own garden.
    Thank you so much Robbie:)))))

  13. I just love your videos. So homey and unpretentious. Great ideas for just about anything to do with container gardening doing it your way! I've been doing some container gardening, but you've convinced me to get totes. I've been using small containers, about a gallon or so. They're OK for small or hanging plants, but I like your composting in place, and it's harder to do with a smaller container I think. I was able to score a couple of plastic lawn chairs today to put totes on. I have bee suspending my stuff to keep the squirrels and bugs off. I did see your video on the use of tulle, and that may be useful also if the squirrels attack the totes. I have also started concentrating on trees from seed. I may be sorry…..

  14. Hi Robbie I use my soldering iron to make holes about an inch up and planted my cottage cheese and yogurt containers today 🙂 thank you for teaching me

  18. Believe it it not but you have me starting planting tomatoes. I hope I don't kill it.

  19. So glad I found your channel,I really enjoyed watching this on how to garden in totes,I am not able to till ground for a garden and live on a fixed income but this sounds like something I could do, thankyou for sharing 😀 so helpful

  20. Buying a fruit tree is getting awfully expensive these days so getting cuttings & swapping w neighbors from their trees or starting from seeds may not be so far fetched – takes longer but well worth it as trees are getting $60 & up per tree – wasn’t too long ago when they were below $20 but with pandemic, costs have skyrocketed – seedlings & even seeds are quite costly these days so harvesting from plants you get from the market may well be worth it – that’s getting difficult too with them being irradiated by more & more markets to prolong shelf life , the seeds won’t grow – killed by radiation so grow while you can before all our produce & fruit are irradiated!

  21. If you raise your totes above ground even a few inches any water falling from the totes will evaporate so your wood deck sd be ok – better yet to put high enough on chairs or table as Robbie does so as to collect & re- use water draining out of totes

  22. Robbie mentioned the fact that some potting mix may be contaminated by herbicides which can kill yr plants – to combat this problem I make my own-mixture of sand( any kind), perlite, vermiculite, sphagnum moss (equal parts ) they’re all free of contaminants so far as I know & use that for my potting soil – haven’t had any problems so far w seed germination or seeds or growing any plants in general- use it for every thing – throw a handful of your backyard native soil for bacteria, mold, earthworm eggs & micro nutrients every now & then as you put in planters , totes , & compost containers
