Grow It Plot Tour May 2022 // Vegetable Gardening and Mega Lettuce Harvest! #Allotment #Garden

It’s a particularly nice May (so far!) and we’re definitely off to a better start than last year! It’s the perfect time for a full tour around my allotment to see what’s growing and also a look at all of the changes that I’ve made since last time as I try and make my former piece of derelict land into a fully functional food growing allotment plot, hopefully on the way to creating a self sufficient vegetable garden.

Here’s a couple of the videos that I mentioned in the video in case you missed them:

This video is also a bit of insight incase you’ve ever found yourself wondering what is an allotment or what is a gardening plot. This video is 2 years and 6 months after starting with an overgrown dump.

  1. Great video, I had the same problem with marigolds , I had to purchase new seeds and change my compost. My garlic is the same but I thought it wouldn't be ready until end July. I cut my comfrey and put it in my compost bin.

  2. Morning Barry, my marigolds are doing good but very shallow roots so not sure if it’s because I had them out side in a lot if rain. Poor viola it struggled all winter 😂😂 so find her a home. We have loads of crows but mainly they leave my garden alone as they are too busy terrorizing the little birds trying to 🪺 😭. Your like me I know what the plants are but never remember to name the varieties 🤷‍♀️. Wow 😮 loads of 🍒 will you have to loosely net it? Loads to do now for sure but it’s the same problem I had so much grew so well I ran out of room even gave away loads 😂😂 I promise I will sow less every year. Not doing chard again will stick with Komatsuna and some soft leaf kale. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad. Have a great week 🐝 safe

  3. You can sow your peas in Feb indoors, mine went out early in April and are now just flowering, had the first pod today
