  1. I appreciate this so much! My husband and I gardened for probably 10 years. Our whole (rather large) back yard in Nashville housed one big garden plot, as well as four smaller/contained side beds. Tomatoes, cukes, a variety of peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, corn, green beans, onions, eggplant, canteloupe and watermelon – more than we could ever consume but which we shared with friends and family. Gardening led us to canning and freezing and baking and it was just the best. I am probably one of your more "mature" viewers and as life happened, we turned from gardening into caring for elderly parents and slowly let the garden go by the wayside. It's so nice to see you enjoying this gift of gardening as much as we did and sharing it with others. There is just nothing quite like playing in the dirt and the exhaustion after hours outside working in the garden yields the best sleep ever!

  2. Right now I live in a apartment in New York but can’t wait to move to another state and have my own garden. I’ve been saving my seeds so I’ll be ready.

  3. Thank you, Carrie,  I would love to see more video about it. It's something new I'm getting passionate about. I used to live in an apartment in Berlin, and now that I move back to Italy and to countryside life I just love gardening. I agree with what you said, it's beautiful, and it's something that just helps us to connect with nature and our body.

  4. There’s NOTHING BETTER than growing your own veggies, except maybe growing your own fruit! Great video babe. 👌🏼🌱

  5. Since I've seen your first video on this topic you have inspired me to grow my own vegetables. I don't have a garden by I do have a balcony and I know that it's possible to do it even in a smaller scale. I'm hoping I'll start doing it this year and share the whole process in my channel 🤞💛

  6. Gardening is even better when you collect the seed from your plants and you never have to go to the shop again. It also tastes so much better when it's picked fresh and has only had natural rain water. It's so good to go outside a pick a leaf of lettuce for your sandwich 1 minute before you eat it or pick a corn cob and cook it straight away. Eat your strawberries as you pick them. You are so right when you say Gardening helps you understand nature. I love your videos thank you. It looks like your thriving here. I can't wait to see what you think of the South island when you get there. Arohanui

  7. Carrie awesome idea. 🥰 I did grow up in a home that had apple, pear, guava, mandarin growing. Our next door nrighbours grew veges tough. Super fresh 🌞 Love your channel. Can't wait to see where you, Alex and Lanka will eventually live♥️🌞

  8. For those who don’t have a yard but want to still have the satisfaction of gardening and eating fresh produce, consider looking into your local farms. Chances are they have a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) or a farm-share. For me it was very affordable for a share just for myself since I live on my own. I get weekly shares for the entirety of the growing season! And you’ll likely be welcome to volunteer to work on the farm and harvest each week. I cannot recommend this enough for those of you who don’t have the means to have your own garden just yet.

  9. Thank you Carrie ..great tips ❤ I have a green house where I grow strawberry and tomatoes ..its always gud 2 learn more ..😘

  10. Carrie, your videos inspired me to get back into the garden 😊 had always enjoyed it but hadn't made the time in the past year. Have planted a bunch of veggies, got more to go in this week.

Also, white cabbage butterflies are one of the most annoying pests here in NZ. I just saw on another gardening page that they're territorial so if you make some fake white butterflies out of an old ice cream tub or other white plastic and put these around your garden, they won't lay their eggs on your veggies (they love brassicas). I'm going to give it a go, thought I'd share as a pesticide-free way to keep the caterpillars off your veggies 😊

  11. First of all, it's soooo lovely to see the beautifull sunny weather!!🤗 That already makes me happy!! I live in the Netherlands, when we have our own garden, i will definitly have a vegatable garden!! Can't wait😁✌🐛🐜🐝🐞

  19. You inspired me to start a garden last year Right when COVID started. The tomatoes did so well all through the winter and yesterday I finally planted my new ones. 23. As a teenager I used to dread helping my mom in our garden. She had chickens, ducks, lots of vegetables lots of fruits, and tons of herbs. One day she gave me a strawberry and it was the sweetest strawberry I’ve ever tasted. Ever since then I’ve been dreaming of house with a garden 🪴
