The Meal That Never Left Home: Harvested & Prepared in the Very Same Yard!
Have you been hoping for a homegrown cooking video from our channel? Dedicated explicitly to sub/tropical climates? Then this latest video is for you!
99% of the ingredients for the meal in this video were:
harvested from this very front suburban yard,
Cooked with filtered rainwater…
by methane gas produced by compost
in an outdoor kitchen!
Talk about a meal with no carbon footprint!
(The only ingredient in this meal that isn’t homegrown is the salt*)
**which instead he harvested from the ocean-water not too far from his tiny home in Orlando, Florida.
We knew it was time again to check in on our friend Rob Greenfield, to see how he’s doing on his latest challenge of growing & foraging 100% of his food for 1 year!
& You know we are always so happy to bring you along with us!
Let us know what you think!
Each time we travel through Orlando, we have made it a priority to check in on our friend Rob Greenfield, to see how he’s doing & keep you up to date on his latest challenge of growing & foraging 100% of his food for 1 year! This time we got another invitation to stay for dinner, along with our friend & lead designer, Matt Reece, while working in the area on our latest edible & ecological landscape project. You know we are always so happy to bring you along with us! What do you think of this awesome adventure of Rob’s? Let us know what you think in the comments!

As a ‘beginner” gardener, Rob Greenfield has challenged himself to grow & forage 100% of his food without his own land and without any previous experience of growing food. If that’s not impressive enough, Rob Greenfield is also living in a 100 sq ft. A tiny home with minimal storage, growing his daily needs in other people’s front yards & gleaning from the fruit trees he planted around Orlando in the short amount of time he has been there. He does this for a big reason – to inspire the rest of us to put a bit more effort into self-resiliency, community interaction & eco-literacy.
Rob Greenfield is undoubtedly at the top of the list when it comes to influential people & we know that this 2-part video will be sure to inspire you with it’s “priceless” advice. Best chances are that you’ve already seen his super smart publicity projects that shed light on dire situations & highlight the brilliant solutions to the problems we are facing globally. Trying to describe Rob’s work here in a short bio does him a significant injustice, so to get a better idea of who this environmental activist & humanitarian is & what he’s doing, check it out over at – http://robgreenfield.tv

I love the video! It takes me back…Grew up in a farm where we grow our own food too and I hope I can do that again someday…You can get more milk from the coconut by using one of these, you can easily make one. https://bit.ly/2GC7Ori
Need basket for your harvesting 🤔
You don’t get enough protein with just your seeds ?that is why you had to eat meat and fish in Wisconsin ! You are active with all this physical work ! So you need at list 60 gram of protein 😒
Do you know sweet potato leaves you can eat it too very good!
The chemical laden processed food goons absolutely hate videos like this.
how do you get protein?
We call those white sweet potatoes, Batata In Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
This is the best video ever!! I love watching him eat and cook from his garden 😋 Goals! Started growing last year!
Was looking forward to seeing his food forest not a cooking show. Lol
I love how your videos have cooking involved. They’re simple and easy to cook & more importantly, healthy. Have been following Rob’s videos on farming , and now cooking too through yours. I just love them. Pls keep doing more … Stay blessed. 🙏💖🌸
I'm wondering if he takes b12 or iodine supplements? (The iodine in sea salt is not stable and does not stay in the salt.)

When I don't cut my lawn for a while I find all kinds of edible plants like wood sorrel, dandelion, plantain, sarrow and wild onions so if my lawn isn't cut it's for a good reason
Hi in the PHILIPPINES we eat the new leaves as well. We cook with soup, stir fry with other veggies and can be steamed and make a salad.
Im talking about the yam leaves
Where is the link to the bags.
This is amazing! Although im a little pressed he didn’t use the coconut shell as a bowl. Less clean up! 😂
💜
The food is so colorful- looks delicious
I am from Sri Lanka .We use coconut husk around the plants so the soil can retain moisture and after sometime it will mix with soil and makes it rich.
You scare me with that pointy poky thingy you use to peel the coconut skin.
Have you tried Kabocha squash? They have much firmer meat. If you want seeds of them, I can send you some.
Good too make activitated charcoal with them husk
I can't find the freezer bags
So crazy to see a food paradise in a suburban hell hole
Great jobs guys! Keep it up and cheers to good health!
ROB YOU DON'T INCLUDE GRAINS SUCH AS BEANS, LENTILS, CHICKPEAS, PEAS IN YOUR DIET?? + BROWN RICE AND BARLEY FOR EXAMPLE.. WE DON'T SEE IT IN YOUR RECIPES!, THOSE SEEDS ARE NATURAL PROTEIN TO RECOVER MUSCLE FIBER THAT VEGGIE-ONLY VEGETARIANS ALWAYS LOSE!!.
Hello my friend very good farming you have many food to eat come from your garden ✌️✌️✌️
Man you are such an inspiration! My dream is to live like you. Thanks for everything.
