Great video Jeff! Pineapples and dragon fruits are two new things I am really starting to get into, but so far, I find both to be difficult to grow. I will try the plastic bag over the pineapple top in the water. Thanks for sharing, your pineapple plants look great!
Hopefully in 3 years my new pineapple starts will produce a nice crop. Have 2 growing since december and it's growing nicely in a pot in my kitchen now.
Funny a few hundred year ago those little babies were protected by a penalty of death for doing that…The French king ol' Louie would not be to happy about this….NO CERTAINLY NOT also rolling in the grave these sell for a $1.50 either lol…… Nice 🙂
I grow them in Florida, I don’t bother with the water cup or bag I just stick the top in the ground, water it in and leave it alone. They ripen and the Raccoons almost always steal them.
The problem with growing from store bought tops is the packing facilities intentionally shoot the label tag into the heart of the crown which almost always leads to heart rot and making much harder to reproduce the plants from commercial fruit.
