  2. Ready to do lighting low voltage style… but finding ideas for ranch home uplighting is hard to..
Trying to decide up lighting for house,landscaping.. flag pole and path lighting.

  3. I recommend you follow the dark sky movement and eliminate or reduce up lights period. Focus your business on safety path lights and subtle area lighting. Oh and “architectural lighting” is a bit more ego driven than landscape lighting.

  4. It's so great to see a smart, articulate guy talk about his real area of knowledge. This is going to help me a lot – thank you!

  5. A second for dark sky-friendly landscape lighting. I’m designing my own because there are not enough professionals who care.

  6. Maybe somebody can tell me: why is it that when I watch a video and somebody is pointing over their shoulder and referring to another video, it's not there? Is this due to my adblocker or something like that? I get this all the time.

  7. We use to have all wired lighting in our landscaping. But the weedeating caused a problem. Wires got destroyed. So instead of doing it all over we just went we solar. Makes it so much easier. We went with just the amount of lighting we wanted. Not to low and not to bright. We like it.

  8. I enjoy watching your videos at 0.75x playback speed, makes it feel like i have a drinking buddy who is a professional lighting installer

  9. Hello, looking for an LED strip light for tucking under the capstones of a retaining wall. There is a half inch overhang. Any affiliate link suggestions for strip / tape light options are appreciated. Subdued, warm white and not too many lumens – thanks!

  10. IMO the "recommended" examples here are hideous. In much the way a little well-placed quiet lets us appreciate the music more, some night should be a part of night lighting. Turn off the glare and allow a little darkness in between lights!

  11. Very helpful, thank you! All your videos are great. One question thou: my concrete porch extends approx 8’ from house and Is 40’ long of 60’ total length, and has double window, single door and another double window on porch. How can I set lights so windows/door doesn’t look washed out?

  12. I have purchased random light sets and large transformers, Is there a service where I can share my landscape and get feedback on where to place what? I am very handy, but I don’t know what to use. Floods, spot, wall wash….. do you typically use 50w or 20w for trees? Thanks

  13. im doing a solar enchanted woodland theme with my small garden, im not a home owner and may not live here for rest of my life,so solar is ideal to put amongst flowers, shrubbery etc

  14. Light YOUR property, not everyone else's. No neighbor should be able to directly see your bulbs. Light pollution is selfish, rude, and illegal.

  15. Great advice on the color temperature. Can't stand daylight (6500k) outdoor led lighting. Looks shrill and garish and is just painful to look at. 2700k to 3000k is what you want for a natural look.

  16. The thing that is a little bit annoying about this is that its really expensive like i dont got like 1m dollars i only got like 1000 in my bank probably

  17. You can buy different wattage of bulbs 5, 7 and 11 depending on what effect your looking for but remember Low Voltage Transformers have a max watt limit. So if you want ten 11 watt lights which is 110 watts and your transformer max is 100 watts that won't work.

  18. Use low intensity solar LEDs. DO not use high intensity mains powered lights like these 1:27 because they disorientate creatures like moths who are very important nighttime pollinators. Don't banish the night with these stupid light polluting landscape lighting 'solution'.

  19. YES! Solar lights SUUUUUUCK! They are dim, they die after a week, and you have to buy new ones every year.
