Q: How do you have internet at your cabins? A: I have cell service at both cabins but it is spotty due to foliage and cloud cover. I can access the internet from my cabins but have to drive to a local wifi location to upload videos.

Q: What video editing software do I use? A: Presently, all I use is Windows Live Movie maker but I’m considering trying imovie, Adobe Elements or SONY VEGAS PRO.
Q: How do you get your water? Did you dig a well? A: Presently, I haul water to the NY cabin but at the NH cabin, I drop a kettle into an old well that was dug by hand by the settlers in the 1700’s.
Q:What is your favorite brand of cast iron cookware? A: I prefer using vintage cast iron. My favorites are BSR and Griswold. If I had to buy new I would buy a Lodge Brand. I plan to purchase this dutch oven in the future:
Q: What do you use for refrigeration? A: We have a small gas refrigerator that we salvaged from an old Shasta camper and a custom icebox that I built into the cabin wall. We make ice on site with a propane freezer.

Very cool.
onions, leave them grow and just trim the greens…
Who knew?
that's really amazing jc, im trying that for sure.. im involved in botany and tissue culture for a job. a bit boring but one thing ive learnt , plants will do nearly anything to survive….amazing nature…i love it.
just a tip…..add a little sugar to the water, maybe even blood drippings off fresh meat… watch the plants go then, just crazy
Carrot, onions and many more things can be grown like this.
Hey boss, Hello from Prince Edward Island
What I do is take the outer leaves from my Romaine, leave the centre intact, and it will grow again.
Some garden vegetables are better at cut and grow than others. Kale is also another great cut and grow
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out, I bet a lot more people will be trying this now, including myself 🙂
Thank you so much for all your videos and for your wonderful spirit and heart.
One day I will live this life and I will always remember your impact and influence.
God bless you and please include me into your prayers.
Most of the time we just cut off what we need while the plant is still in the garden. This way it will continue to produce all summer long and we only harvest what is needed for our daily needs. We also do with broccoli. Cabbage will regenerate as well but it takes a lot longer.
Awesome idea. I'm 45. Why have I never learned this before?? Thank you
That was pretty cool with the lettuce…Back in the late 80's the town I lived in shut the dump down…Plowed it over and made it level…I went out there that Fall and you should have seen what was growing there…Giant Watermellones, Corn everywhere, Tomatoes, etc…Everything that was thrown away and the seeds took the next year..It was really a site…Cool video Bossman…
LOL
after watching this a few weeks ago we had some celery so i tried it , so far it is i'd say 7 to 8 inches high , we been like every 1 else always trowing this stuff away well not any more in spring or summer time i may even try it in the bay window in winter time
I am so going have to try this!

Here Boss- an idea for the homestead garden
😀👍🏻
Yes sir we used to do experiments with carrots and coriander butts iwater and also beans and grams of all sorts on a light bed of moist cotton wool kept on a saucer all through our summer holidays. it was huge fun.since its warm here we couldn't keep it in the kitchen so we'd find a cool spot and let it grow:-)
Works very well with green onions.
very interesting! I've never heard if this before but will try it when I'm done with this head of lettuce. and to think I just threw one out 2 days ago…
works great, the only thing is that it has roughly half the nutrients the original one had and when continued to replant it depletes aging and again, like wheat grass
Wow! never knew you could do that, I mentioned it to a friend that grew up in the 30s and 40s and she said they did it all the time, so, maybe it's been lost to these throw away generations. Well, not anymore.. thanks for showing this..
Spring onions is another good one, I just cut them off about an inch from the bottom and put them in glass of water.. isn't it great ….never to old to learn I always say….
Try also carrots. I will definetly try the lettuce. Thanks for sharing
i put all my change in water. i'll let you know what happens.
Wonder if this works with a steak?
I did this and it never grew any roots. I'm not sure what I did wrong. It grew about an inch tall and stopped. Could it be that my water is contaminated? 😕
Celery ,carrots, lettuce of all types, onions, pine apple tops,, cant remember what else !
Don't mean to be negative, but my wonder would be if it's store bought veggies and they were grown chemically would that be not so good. I have heard of the process just haven't tried it. I do very little stuff in a can or a box, I'd be lying if I said I didn't ya just can't help it today. Who knows I'm old enough now how much more can they hurt me ha ha ha ha. 🙂
AWESOME tid-bits of information 🙂
Wow. Like you I haven't heard of such a thing either. Nature continues to amaze!
I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago & subscribed. Now I'm going thru all your videos as I have time, mostly binge watching-lol! I'm the same age as you and re-evalueating the direction of my life. I've long known (in theory) that what your doing is possible but didn't have a clue as to how it's possible. My grandparents probably knew it and my parents knew some of this, neither passed on their knowledge. Thank you for sharing all the videos!! God Bless!!
I never heard of that deal myself, I gotta try it , you learn something every day. Thanks again JC
I’ve been watching all of your videos and and enjoying the emensly! I just turned 66 and going to retire in a few months. I’m planning to start my first vegetable garden with the help of my two grandsons (ages 5 and 3) who are anxious to get started. Thanks for all of your homestead/cabin videos

Green onions regrow too. Plant a sweet potato chunk in a pot inside…. The leaves are great in salads
Ready for another on : works with scallions too !! Have a cup in the window right now in fact ! Lol Incredible rate of growth too ! Grew up calling them scallions but some call em green onions. Must be from away. Lao
