There are two main reasons for pruning now in Autumn
1. #windrock, high winds in autumn & through winter can rock tall leggy shrubs back and fourth putting stress on the plants root system, so we reduce them now.
2. Collect & remove the last of the rose leaves, burn or bury them under at least three inches of mulch or compost to stop the spread of #blackspot in spring next year. A common rose disease which introduces itself back onto the rose in the following year through rain splash, disease over winters on the fallen leaves from the prievous year.
