It’s time for an update on the Ranunculus corms that I started pre-sprouting back on August 25th! They are growing like crazy and ready to be planted outside! In this video I share the 2 ways that I will be planting these outside and where they will be growing when the weather gets colder to hopefully have blooms around Thanksgiving. It’s a TOTAL EXPERIMENT!!!

I been waiting for this video… I hope it works 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So that was August 25 – how are they now more than a month later? We are all dying to know!!
I loved this! I just finished my first season and have lots to learn and your videos are very instructive. I should be getting my ranunculus corms this month and I’m hoping to have early spring blooms. Im in South GA, 8b. Thank you for helping this novice.
I'm rooting for you! (LOL) Best of luck on the experiment. Can't wait for the next update.
Looking forward to seeing what works ! The plants look good so far!
What basil did you pull? I was disappointed with my Mrs Burns lemon basil, the leaves yellowed. Amoratto is finicky for me but I do like the dark opal basil which is purple. Like you, I didn’t basil use in many bouquets though.
I will be very interested to see how it goes. 🙂
Hello! I wish you a successful experiment. Happiness to you👍🌻💙
Good luck Christine 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃
Did you presprout these in a cool room with a light?
They do overwinter easily. I dried out the corms last summer and put them back in the box they came in and stored it in my basement. No peat or vermiculite required. They sprouted fine this spring!
This is very cool!
EEEk! I am so glad you are trying this out! Can not wait to see the details!
I wanted to start mine this week, but I have never grown them before — and I am thinking I an behind in pre-sprouting for my area. I live in North Dakota and was thinking of trying a home-made low tunnel in my yard. I feel like it is hard to find the details on understanding (isolating) — what really happens when a corm or plant goes dormant. I feel like understanding that science would help a person navigate better around their own micro climate situation. And I know we can not grow everything. But I am so nervous to just jump in and try. So I appreciate your videos!
(( any thoughts on the idea of using milk jugs and winter sowing them and tucking them into the garden?
