Front Yard Garden

Growing All My Food In a Front Yard Container Garden

It’s time to take another walk through the front yard container garden. I have expanded the growing beds by 13 more 20gallon premium nursery pots. I’ve added lot’s of asparagus and some annuals including sweet bonnet pepper, habanada pepper, otome and royal golden watermelon, rat’s tail radish, black garbanzo beans, black soy beans, black turtle beans, black popcorn and so much more!! I’ve already eaten so much from this front yard container victory garden.

  1. Love the 20 gals. I have ONE, found it on the side of the road 🙂 enjoying the tour. Grow food not lawns!

  2. I would not hold back on watering the tomatoes. Tomatoes like water (in the soil not on the leaves which can result in rot) to keep their feet moist . Which is why tomatoes do so well in hydroponics.

  3. Side note: One way to call this is "container gardening". But maybe a more cool term would be "nano farming". After all you have many nano sized farms there.

  4. Both of varieties of purple carrot bolted on me before the root had a chance to swell. Cosmic Purple and Pusa Asita. We don't really get much of a spring here, which I think contributed to the issue, and I haven't had a chance to try a fall crop, but I think that'll make all the difference. The Parisienne, Little Finger, Scarlet Nantes, and two other orange varieties I tried did not bolt, despite all being planted at the same time. It's interesting that your purples did the same thing. 🤔
