  1. I’m actually quite fond of that particular area of your estate, because it’s very rustic. I also love your outdoor fireplace area.

  2. What are you planning to do in this area in the future? I think I heard you mention one time that you wanted to rip out out. Have you considered turning it into a shallow pond with a fountain? That way, you can grow water plants… just a thought 🙂

  3. I have that cuphea! It’s a great, hardy plant. Comes back every year ready to feed the hummingbirds! I just snip of scraggly old growth in spring, fertilize & in a few days it’s lush & big again. Doesn’t care about high heat or wind, is very drought tolerant. I LOVE this plant! Have a few hummingbird friends who stop by to feast from it frequently. Enjoy their company while I’m putzing in the yard. I gotta get the purple penesetums. Can’t wait to see this fill in!

  4. If you have a circle island that also contains large pine trees and a medium size palm tree, how would you plant up the annuals to fill up the space?
