Nodmorden is a village in the outskirts of Manchester where residents are self-sufficient in food production planting vegetables, fruits and medicinal herbs in more than 70 public spaces. This project was started by Pam Warhust in 2008, a businesswoman and former council leader in Todmorden when the economy was going downhill and fears about climate change were on the rise. Now this bright idea is not only bearing fruit but taking roots in other towns across the UK and as far away as New Zealand.
